Swede Keen for Kihikihi

Swede Keen for Kihikihi
Annica Södergren didn’t need to think twice about returning to be part of the Kihikihi International Horse Trial.
The Stockholme-based official will be a steward across all classes at the event this year.
“I am very glad to get the chance to come back to New Zealand again,” said Södergren, who was also at the 2016 trials.
“Everybody is very nice and friendly, and it feels like a family event.”
Södergren was booked to officiate in Western Australia and the New Zealand trip was being added to that, however, despite the Australian event being cancelled, she decided to head to New Zealand anyway.
A highlight for her last year was watching the cross country.
“It was nice to walk around the course and see all the details John (Nicholson) has made out of wood. They put a lot of effort into the flower decoration, which was really nice.”
Back in Sweden, Södergren works in the security department at Skansen Park – a zoo, an open air museum and entertainment venue. She also teaches riding.
“I enjoyed the event and I am looking forward to seeing everybody again,” she said “I think New Zealand is a great country.”
And she’s hopeful of seeing a little more of it while here.
