Kihikihi Going Live All Over the World

Kihikihi Going Live All Over the World
Equestrian Live are bringing live streaming from the 2015 Kihikihi International Horse Trial.
In announcing the exciting first, new Kihikihi president Georgie Smith said the addition to the already world-class event opened it up to people all over the globe.
“It will widen the audience who will be able to see what is going on at Kihikihi this year,” she says. “That is a massive lift in profile internationally.”
And she feels that it’s fitting for such a “special” event.
Equestrian Live founder Nik Eliadis is also excited to be streaming the 3*, 2* and 1* classes from New Zealand’s most celebrated three day event.
“This is an event with a great reputation, we are looking forward to being part of it,” says Eliadis.
And while it is just Equestrian Live’s second eventing outing, they’ve been doing plenty with other disciplines including the Ultra•Mox FEI World Cup (NZ series) Final and the McMillan Equine Feeds NZ National Showjumping and Showhunter Championships, as well as top dressage events.
It all started on the opening day of the 2014 Horse of the Year Show where Eliadis was asked to “put a bit of live streaming together”.
That first live streaming effort at HOY saw 2,500 people subscribe and had more than 20,000 hits from people all over the globe.
“I realised then that equestrian people were mad keen on the concept of live streaming.”
He established a new equestrian focused company and the rest, as they say, is history.
Eliadis’ background is in IT – he’s a programmer who has also worked in marketing and sales. Knowing both sides of the industry is the key that is making Equestrian Live successful.
He and his team are also heading to Las Vegas to the Longines FEI World Cup (showjumping) Final, following Katie Laurie and her horse Dunstan Kiwi Iron Mark (owned by June Berrington).
Equestrian Live will stream dressage, cross country and showjumping from the 3*, 2* and 1* classes at Kihikihi.
