Clarke Johnstone’s Winning Weekend Becomes Win For Local Riding School >>

Others are reaping the rewards of Kihikihi Champ, Clarke Johnstone’s success. He not only had a successful weekend at the recent BNZ Kihikihi International Horse Trial winning both the BNZ 3* and the CNC 1*, all of his 5 Mounts were in the top 10 placing’s in their respective classes, Clarke also won the raffle for $1,000 worth of Vouchers, kindly donated by Horselands.

Kihikihi Chairperson Robyn North said she phoned Clarke to congratulate him on his performances and his raffle win. He thanked us for a great Event and said that the raffle was an exceptionally good prize, I couldn’t help myself and said that I had purchased several tickets myself hoping to win it for the Waikato Equestrian Centre Riding School. (Robyn has recently taken up an Instructors position at W.E.C. ) As the recent autumn rain has shown that the School’s horse covers are not at all waterproof.

Clarke immediately offered the vouchers to the Riding Centre Ponies, for new winter covers.

“This is a great contribution to the W.E.C. These horses and ponies provide a great service to those who cannot afford or do not have the resources to own their own horses” says Robyn. “We do our utmost to provide them with the best of care and at this time we are grateful for this helping hand. It was not until I had taught at the Centre that I realised the value of the Riding School, the school provides lessons to riders of all ages from mums who rode in their younger years and come to the Centre for their horse fix and some time out, through to autistic children, youngsters with balance and relationship issues and your good old fashioned pony mad young girls and boys.”

A Huge thanks to Clarke and Horselands, our Champions in the Year of the Horse.
